Course Description

This course is an introduction to semiconductor devises for undergraduate materials engineers, from the basic description of properties of semiconductor junctions to electronic devices which are pre-existed and newly developed. We will cover application of junctions, field-effect transistors, bipolar junction transistors, optoelectronic devices, integrated circuits, negative conductance microwave devices, and power devices. We will focus on incorporating the basics of semiconductor materials and conduction processes in solids.
